How Invisalign® Clear Aligners Work

How invisalign works

A discreet and comfortable alternative to fixed braces, clear aligners are an innovative solution for those requiring teeth straightening treatments. Invisalign® clear aligners are custom-made, virtually invisible replicas of your teeth made from polyurethane resins, a type of plastic.

A series of removable aligners sometimes called ‘shells’ or ‘trays’ fit over the teeth and gently exert pressure which progressively repositions crooked teeth or closes gaps.

Invisalign Teens

If it’s looking like your pre-teen or teenager is going to need braces, Invisalign® clear aligners do have some advantages over traditional fixed metal braces.

Less Noticeable

Most teenagers are self-conscious at the best of times. Even though fixed metal braces are always worth it in the end, a mouthful of metal does not usually help with confidence issues.

The clear aligners promote better oral health and hygiene habits as they can be removed for teeth brushing and eating.

Invisalign® clear aligners are custom-made and fitted for each child so they cause less discomfort, such as small cuts to the inside of the cheeks and tongue, than fixed braces.

Encourage Compliance

The results of Invisalign® clear aligners are very dependent on the compliance of the wearer, and teenagers are typically not the most compliant. However, Invisalign® Teen Aligners have a set of blue indicator dots that fade as your teenager wears them, serving as a visual reminder to change sets when needed.

How much does Invisalign aligners cost in London?

The cost of Invisalign® Clear Aligner treatment depends on the complexity of each individual alignment problem which directly affects the duration of the treatment. Based on your 3D scan we will determine your dental correction complexity and the pricing package that’s right for you.

*Based on 60 monthly payments. T&C’s applies, subject to finance agreement.

Invisalign® Clear Aligners can Correct a Range of Orthodontal Problems

The Invisalign® laboratory tailor-makes the aligners according to your individual needs with the exact specifications of our orthodontist to align both your teeth and overall bite.

Invisalign® clear aligners are suitable for correcting:

Crooked Teeth

Crooked Teeth

Crooked teeth can cause some people to feel self-conscious about their smiles. Aligning crooked teeth not only gives you a great smile but also helps with the general health of your teeth and gums.

Teeth Spacing and gaps

Gaps in Teeth

Fixed orthodontic braces can correct gaps between the teeth. Gaps can cause oral hygiene issues that may lead to gum or periodontal disease in the future.

Teeth Overbite

An overbite is a dental condition whereby the front teeth (usually at least two of the front teeth) stick out too far beyond the lower teeth.

Teeth Underbite

An underbite occurs when the bottom teeth extend too far in front of the upper teeth and can give the appearance that the jaw is pushing forward.

Teeth Cross bite

This is a type of misalignment where a single tooth, or a group of the upper teeth, sits inside the lower teeth. A crossbite can involve the front or back teeth, or occasionally, both.

Teeth Open Bite

Open Bite

A healthy bite is when the upper teeth slightly overlap the lower teeth when the mouth is fully closed. In an open bite, the upper and lower teeth have too much space between them and do not touch when the jaw is closed.

Teeth Crowding

Crowded Teeth

This condition occurs when there are too many teeth in relation to the space available in the upper and lower jaw. Crowded teeth can become severely crooked and misaligned if left untreated leading to potential problems in the future.
